Resistors
Resistors are using to restrict the flow of electric
current. Resistor is measured in ohms,
symbol Ω
(Omega), Kilo ohms K Ω and Mega ohms M Ω.
1000Ω=1KΩ
1000KΩ= 1MΩ
Most resistors are too small to show their resistance value as a printed number in this regards color code is used instead. This color coating is known as band.
Resistor values are usually shown using colored bands and each color represents a number. Most resistors have four bands. First band gives the first digit, Second band gives the second digit, Third band indicates the number of zeros and fourth band shows the tolerance (precision) of the resistor but this may be ignored for almost all circuits.
Standard color code cannot show values of less than 10Ω to show small values two special colors are used for the third band Gold (means ×0.1) and Silver (means ×0.01)
